Tony Vo, manager of Classic Tuxedo on Bow Street, doesn't think a cane comeback has much of a chance. "People are too violent," he says. "If they brought canes, they would hit each other." Nevertheless, he has a stockpile of canes in the back room of his store. His personal pick is simple in its elegance--black with white tips--resembling most closely a magic wand. Keezer's near MIT also offers a similar selection at a slightly greater hassle...

...Nevertheless, the show--which will be at the Met through June 27 and then move to San Francisco, appropriately enough, for the summer--has some exceptional things in it. Perhaps the finest of its paintings, and the most exuberantly fresh in its coloring, is a portion of what must have been one of the great 13th century Italian altarpieces. ...rather, it has proved its atrociousness in the recent Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) debacle, a debacle that, sadly, the campus has forgotten in its two-second attention span, a debacle that Dean Lewis, thankfully, recently quashed by indicating that ROTC's return to campus is nowhere near imminent. Nevertheless, I would like to ask two questions regarding the council's refusal Sunday night to reconsider the rescission of the ROTC Task Force Authorization Bill. 1) Whom does the council represent anyway? And 2) Since when did "compromise" mean homophobia...
