In the future, September 22 will be the last day for changing electives,- not August 15, as heretofore. Between this date and October 7 no changes whatever will be allowed. ...Williams Athenoeum has a new board of editors, who set forth a very sensible credo on the objects of a college journal. They believe that "literary articles" should "occupy only a subordinate place." Unfortunately we find in the same issue an oration four and a half columns long on the "Historical Awakening Culminating in the Reformation." The Athenoeum should take as its motto, "Video meliora proboque, Deteriora sequor." We must acknowledge, however, that the oration is worth publishing...

LAST Saturday's races were a great success, so far, at least, as concerns the interest taken in them. The new system that has been adopted - of closing the entry-book the night before - has given much satisfaction to all the boating men; it avoids endless confusion on the morning of the races, and affords the captains of the different crews time to draw the lots properly. Rather contrary to expectation, the entry-book was well filled on Friday evening, there being thirty-four names entered for the six-oars and thirty-two for the four-oars. There...
