As I look back on my own days at Memorial it seems to me there was an enormous waste; the waiters used to bring us vast quantities of roast beef, for instance, from which we could select the tid-bits which suited our palates. ...New York, April 14, 1909.--In spite of the driving wind and rain this afternoon Columbia's two university crews were able to get out on the water for a short time. The crews rowed up and down past the boathouse several times, and tried a few racing starts. Coach Rice seemed to be fairly well pleased with the work. A temporary shake-up makes the final order for the race undecided. On Friday the crew expects to row over the course twice, and possibly will take a light paddle Saturday morning...
