...practice of the University baseball squad yesterday consisted almost entirely of a practice game with the Freshmen. The rules of the game were not strictly adhered to the work being for the most part devoted to giving the University nine practice in base-running. As has been the case in all the games of late, the men were slow in taking advantage of their chances, and were caught repeatedly by sharp throwing on the part of the Freshmen. Captains of contesting nines must make arrangements for an umpire, but may obtain bats, balls, etc., in Hollis 24 at 3.30 o'clock on the day of each game. The place at which games will be played will be announced later, and any team which does not appear at the specified place with fifteen minutes of the scheduled time will lose its game by default.
