...shut out, 5-0 by the University baseball team in a well-played game at Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon. W. B. Felton '19 held the Purple batters to three hits, two of which were of the scratch variety, and was given good support by his teammates. The University nine showed a marked improvement in every department of the game, and played a far better brand of ball than they have exhibited in any game this season. The defense of the team was decidedly stiffened, while the Crimson batters touched Zink, Amherst's best pitcher, for a total of eight hits...

Both the Freshman and the 2nd baseball teams won their games yesterday. Holy Cross 1922 lost to the Freshman nine yesterday afternoon by a score of 5-4 in a twelve-inning game. Although the Freshmen easily out-batted their opponents fourteen hits to six, they were unable to concentrate their attack enough. H. S. Russell '22 pitched a good game for the Freshmen for nine innings, and was then replaced by J. R. Meehan '22, who lasted the remainder of the contest...

...Reid '01, formerly catcher on the University baseball team, will be the principal speaker at the meeting. Mr. Reid has been acting as associate coach of the University nine for the past few days, and has a very thorough understanding of the baseball situation. Captain W. W. McLeod '19, and Manager Ford Hibbard '20 will each give a short talk. The cheering will be under the leadership of Cheer-leader C. Canfield '19, and all of the University baseball songs will be practised in preparation for the game on Saturday. Cards have been printed with the words of the songs...
