...long and uninteresting game was played on Holmes field yesterday afternoon between the 'varsity nine and the professional Lowell team. So few spectators attended the game that there was some excuse for the utter lack of life which the Harvard team showed. The fielding was by no means clean, and all the infielders made very bad errors. The batting was even weaker, while the coaching was contemptible. At no point in the game did the home team show the slightest energy. In the Yale game on Thursday, Harvard will not have the slightest chance if she plays a game anything...

Princeton played the last of her intercollegiate games on Saturday and was beaten by Yale after a close game. Her nine has made a good showing this year, having won one game from Yale and two from Harvard. Three of the other five games were lost only after hard struggles. As the record now stands Harvard must win one game from Yale to tie with Princeton for second place, two games to take second place alone, and all three to win the championship. ...game with Yale which was postponed from the 8th on account of rain will in all probability be played on Thursday, June 20, the date offered by the management of the Yale nine. Captain Willard has telegraphed that he will accept the 20th, so that unless some unforeseen contingencies arrive to prevent, the game will be played here next Thursday...
