...very strong and equipped much better than most groups. They had the combined experience of climbing on every continent of the world and their leader was a cool-headed veteran of two Antarctica expeditions. I find their loss only a little short of unbelievable. It is interesting to note that all fatal accidents on Mount McKinley have involved very experienced climbers. Mountaineers should be aware that infrequent situations do occur that probably no one can cope with.
