Young Mr. Allen is himself likely to have a career no less brilliant than was his father's, if ability, scholarly attainments and a pleasing address obtain their due. In college he took a high stand in his class, and found much time beside to devote to athletics, having been proficient not only in several different sports, but also having filled in an admirable manner the position of coxswain in the famous '77-'79 'varsity crews. It is doubtless true that Dartmouth will make no violent opposition to the proposition, choosing rather to submit quietly to a manifest injustice than to obtain the unenviable reputation of obstinacy and grumbling.
