...College authorities, arranged for a central cross Section Committee to regulate room assignments. The aims of this committee, as its name implies, have been to make each house representative of the college as a whole, and thereby to establish a standard of social equality among the houses. The obvious result of this hit-or-miss plan has been to place a great many men in a thoroughly uncongenial, and often intolerable atmosphere. Friendships made in the familiar Yard surroundings are rudely interrupted and can rarely be satisfaciorily picked up again, while the field for new friendships, is barren compared...
While it is entirely legitimate for the H.A.A. to charge admission for intramural games with Yale, it would be a mistake to repeat last night's arrangement. The House basketball season was closed in a game preliminary to the Olympic elimination trial between Providence and Springfield. It is obvious that there must have been a considerable number of students who would have liked to witness the climax of Intra-House play but who had no desire to see the other event...
...Riley's conception of humor is broad and earthy; he's not above generous exploitation of popular susceptibility to the obvious double entendre. He realizes that, like money, sex may not be everything, but it's hard to got along without. His take is simple and though unevenly paced it has its moments. A quiet, solid little tourists home is thrown into an uproar of delicious confusion when the unexpected guest sweeps in the alluring form of Carole Arden, the luscious temptress of the silver screen. Miss Arden seems to be on a tour of personal appearances which has been...

The narrow and bigoted point of view that you maintain comes as a surprise to one who has always placed Harvard's intellectual preeminence above all other considerations. Is it not obvious that, at least to thinking people, in some small part the fame of the university is due to the non-athletic portion of the community? Not only must we witness the coarsening of the intellectual fibres of "college" men by the iron heel of crude commercialism, but you have...
Besides the obvious advantages of the trial flight in his new field of concentration, the extension of the tutorial system would make the planning of the study card in the spring a much more logical and scientific affair than it is at the present time. The hasty alterations and substitutions made by the tutors the following autumn under the existing system not only are carelessly thought out, but add to the general confusion in September of the Sophomore year. If this work were done leisurely in the spring, while the Freshman was getting his first taste of concentration, more sober...
