...STUDENTS continued to lobby until Tuesday afternoon, when the amendment was called to vote. The waiting line for the Senate Gallery contained an odd assortment of people. The vote on the Byrd Amendment was scheduled for 2 p.m. At 1:30 p.m. a recess was called in order to see the Apollo 14 astronauts during their tour of Washington.
