Boff of the Week Standing in as host of NBC's Kraft Music Hall, Woody Allen produced a wicked parody called Bonnie's Clyde- with Allen as "Warren Beauty" and Liza Minnelli as "Faye O'Laye." Best boff: after Bonnie recites her ode to the Barrow Gang exploits, Clyde's brother Buck says, "I'm only a dumb hillbilly, ma'am, and I don't hold much truck with poetry, but you know what you've done?" Bonnie: "What's that, Buck Barrow?" Buck: "You've managed to combine...

The Teheran Symphony Orchestra played a new coronation hymn ("You are the shadow of God"), and unofficial Poet Laureate Lutfali Suratgar read a three-minute ode ("The crown and throne of the King of Kings shone over the world as the sun and the moon shine in the firmament"). ...Columbia). Gee whillikers! Such classical music and such libidinous Latin! Actually Orff's version of The Songs of Catullus is one of the most fascinating pieces of music composed in this century (completed in 1943). Its explicit text by Catullus (847-54 B.C.) is a delightfully, powerfully pagan ode to the joys and heartbreaks of love and lust. Eugene Ormandy's Philadelphia Orchestra and the Temple University Choirs understand and communicate the wild spirit of the piece...

...Orton's funeral (Halliwell was buried separately). Instead of organ requiems, the service was accompanied by a recording of Orton's favorite song, the Beatles' A Day in the Life. Playwright Harold Pinter read a few lines of poetry and Actor Donald Pleasence delivered an ode he composed himself-a reminder that in his plays Joe Orton had treated death as a grisly...
