...explanation of fraud is overdone," said Sir Arthur Conan Doyle recently in all interview with a CRIMSON reporter in which he emphasized the material proof which is now available to offset the skepticism shown by so many toward spiritualism at this time. He admitted that many mediums and spirit messages are fakes, but contended that other evidence, thoroughly tested by the most rigid scientific tests, proved conclusively the existence of another world and the possibility of communication with that world...

Tech has a trio of fast 100-yard dash men in Heap, Hayes, and Howlett. Howlett, probably the fastest of these, ran second only to Gourdin last year and is considered to be as fast if not faster this year. To offset him the University will have Chase, Evans, Hovey, and Wansker. Chase is the University's best bet in the 220-yard dash, but M. I. T. with Poole, Howlett, and W. L. Smith might easily take two places, possibly winning the event. Chapin would have been a logical point winner in this event, but he can not take...

So far, the Dartmouth mat-men have not had a particularly successful season, but with both teams weakened...

...this afternoon. This should prove to be a brisk and snappy contest as it is the climax up to which both teams have been working all season. The Crimson has had a harder schedule and is as a result the more experienced team. But this slight advantage will be offset by its defence being weakened because Captain Hodder and W. D. Cantillon have both been absent from practice during the past week on account of colds. Coach Humphrey expects to start them and will leave them in as long as he deems advisable...

...which the advantage to foreign nations of lower labor costs may be offset, is a reduction of the insurance rate below that which obtains in other countries. A huge combination of private companies might conceivably be able to insure at lower rates, and still make a profit; but an easier method of securing inexpensive insurance would be to have the government provide it at cost, a thing which our experience with war-time life insurance for the army and navy shows quite feasible...
