Last week the University of Pittsburgh's Dr. Nicholas E. Wagman announced that the bright star, Alpha Ophiuchi, had a very significant wobble. After watching it for years, he had decided that it must be the dominant member of a couple. Apparently, it was revolving once in eight and a half years around a dimmer star. He did not see the "dark companion" -"dark" only by comparison with the glare of Alpha Ophiuchi...

He has observed some 47,000 heavenly bodies, is the sole discoverer of two previous comets, co-discoverer of three others. From this point, it is expected, that other coronal lines will soon be interpreted and the mystery of the corona completely cleared up. The recent discovery at Mt. Wilson of a new star, Nova Ophiuchi, which also shows coronal lines at one stage of its explosive outburst has greatly facilitated this solution of coronal radiation...
