...Mason's characterization of Mary was the particular bright bit of acting. The St. James is to be congratulated upon securing this exceptionally gifted and versatile actress. Anna Layng was convincing as Mrs. Kent, in the first act, but the change from a country church organist to a "night blooming Sirius" seemed a little overdrawn even for a farce. Walter Gilbert did his usual fine job with the leading part, and the supporting cast played well. A very entertaining play, with plenty of laughs...
