...Lieutenant Schmidt's cruiser was joined by nine other ships and an infantry regiment on shore, which attempted to seize the city of Sebastopol. Ships loyal to the Tsar opened fire on the rebel boats, sinking the Otchakov, the Dneiper and a transport.
