In previous elections, at least one candidate for chairman called for the council to devote itself primarily to student services, rather than controversial questions such as divestment. Does the B.U. faculty think Silber is reasonable? Apparently not, given their repeated attempts to oust him. Why then should students try to engage in reasonable discourse with the man or his administration? Silber has proven again and again that he doesn't respect students' right to free speech; faculty members complain that he fires dissenters in their ranks. What could dialogue produce with a man who doesn't want to hear the other side...
