Harvard outplayed Yale at nearly every point, far out-batting and outfielding her. Stagg was in the box and was hit hard, only five Harvard men striking out. His support behind the bat was admirable, but in the infield and outfield many inexcusable errors were made. Harvard, on the other hand, fielded well and batted in fine form. Yale ran bases with more spirit than Harvard, and another weak point of the latter was her coaching, which was poor, especially when a runner was on third. Downer, although deserving much praise for his steadiness in the latter part...

...batting streak, and Yale's errors in the eighth inning was hardly anything more than a pure piece of good luck for Harvard. Harvard's infielders had very little to do, but Soule distinguished himself by making several fine stops and preventing safe hits from going to the outfield. His batting was very timely. Frothingham's single in the eighth came just at the nick of time and probably saved the game...

...cricket eleven played at Chelsea on Saturday and won their second game. The wicket was soft and bumpy, and prevented accurate bowling, while the long grass in the outfield made it difficult to get even two runs, except off boundary hits. Harvard went into the field first, and, as at Somerville, got a wicket on the first ball. They retired Chelsea for 45 runs, allowing only W. L. Martin, who played a careful game, to roll up double figures. For Harvard, Garrett batted best with 23 runs to his credit, while Sallivan and Parker hit well...

...Yale nine has been considerably weakened in the outfield and in the pitcher's box by the temporary loss of Dalzell and McClintock. Dalzell sprained his ankle in the first game with New York, but will soon be ready to play again. McClintock has been at home five weeks, recovering from a generally run down state of health, but has now returned to college, and will probably soon be ready to play again. Stagg has, mean while, been coaching Ridgeway, a fresh sophomore, for change pitcher. He is said to be a strong, well-built man, and to have some...
