After falling behind 2-0 early, Harvard came back behind two unearned runs. The Crimson scored one in the sixth, and then tied the score with two outs in the bottom of the ninth when leftfielder Joe Llanes scored on a fielding error by Dartmouth third baseman Brian Nickerson.
The Tiger defense was awful throughout the day. With two outs in the first, sophomore Cherry Fu put Harvard up 2-0 with a shallow fly to center which fell in between two Princeton fielders.
Senior Crystal Springer followed up with a pop fly to second that should have ended the inning. But the Tigers dropped the ball, and with McKendry and Fu running all the way with two outs, the lead was stretched to 4-0.
In the top of the first, three walks by Olson loaded the bases for Harvard with two outs. Hopps, however, popped out to short to end the inning.
BU reliever Mary Colleran lost no composure, however, and got the final two outs of the inning with the next two batters.
