...winter track season at Yale began in the cage on December 6 for Freshmen and upper classmen. There are seven "Y" men eligible this year, Captain Oler, Hampton, Johnstone, Overton, Preston, Young, and Bunker, who is also manager. There will be three or four indoor meets this winter, and every man who shows promise will be given a chance to compete. Entries will probably be made in the B. A. Captain J. W. Overton of Yale led practically all the way and set up a new record of 36 minutes, 43 seconds for the course. R. S. Young of Yale was second, finishing close behind. The next four places went to the University. K. E. Fuller '16 won his "H" by finishing third in 37 minutes, 28 seconds. Fourth place was taken by G. A. Overton and Young kept in the lead, but the other Yale runners were gradually passed by the first four of the University team. At the half-way mark the course led over West Rock, an elevation of over 400 feet. Going up this fall, the Crimson representatives as a rule fared as well as their opponents and all were forced to alternate between running and walking...
