While Southwest doesn't charge for your first two checked bags, it will raise fees on your third checked bag and overweight bags (weighing between 51 and 70 pounds). Some American doctors think the IOM, which is part of the National Academy of Sciences, could have gone even further in its recommendations for overweight women.
