With McArthur's support, say Stevenson and Sahlman, the program has come to hold its own amidst more established departments. By next year, at least seven professors will teach entrepreneurial studies courses, and Sahlman estimates that half of all second-year students will take a course in the field.
In cases such as this one, B-School professors say, McArthur doesn't simply dictate new concepts to be developed by faculty; rather, he encourages professors to pursue their own projects.
"They're great," Radcliffe Coach Liz O'Leary says. "They've really come into their own as athletes. It's exciting to see where they are now and see their potential down the road as they pursue their national team goals."
"Radcliffe crew has really enriched the major part of my college experience," Mary says. "It's nice to get close to a group of people I wouldn't have met elsewhere. It's helped me to find my own place in the University, my own niche."
"Outside the department, BSA has its own agenda, and it needs issues, and Afro-American Studies Department is an issue," says Huggins. "It's a standard, regular issue for it. I haven't any problem with that. If you're a student organization you need to have some issues."
