Surrounded by his famous collection of time pieces, Judge Lance Ito is clearly impatient with the pace of the Simpson trial. In a serious setback for the defense, Ito ruled that he will not allow the testimony of disgruntled FBI agent Frederic Whitehurst. Citing the pace of the job and the desire to spend more time with his family, White House counsel Abner Mikva said today he will resign on Nov.1, after less than a year on the job.
