Yesterday was the first day of organized rowing at the Weld and Newell boat clubs. In addition to a number of singles and pair-oars, five eights were organized at each club. Neither club had a professional coach to direct the rowing, Donovan of the Weld and Vail of the Newell not yet having returned to coaching duties.
