...barrier is indeed "ugly." it is not built as an ornament but to prevent Palestinian suicide bombers killing and crippling Israeli citizens. It has cost Israeli taxpayers hundreds of millions but it is effective: the bombings have been stopped. ...answered it months ago with his massive stimulus package. On foreign policy, we only just learned the answer. By taking on the Israeli government over the issue of settlement growth, Obama is showing that he's a gambler overseas as well. Despite the conventional wisdom that an Israeli-Palestinian peace deal is impossible anytime soon, he seems hell-bent on pursuing one. And if he breaks china in the process...

The voice is sad and at one point almost breaks into a sob, and in the backdrop of the Tehran night can be faintly heard protest chants: "Allahu-Akbar, Allahu-Akbar." God is Great, God is Great. A Palestinian friend of mine remarked that those words would once have struck fear into the hearts of Americans. Now they inspire. That is a revolution all by itself...
