...meeting of the Camera Club last night, Mr. Chester A. Stiles spoke on the manufacture of velox paper. A set of lantern slides was shown illustrating the principles by which pictures should be selected for exhibition. Professor Norton's talk, which was to have been given last night, was postponed until next Wednesday. Seventy-six pictures have already been entered for the coming exhibition, which will probably be more extensive than that of last year. ...stories and poems in the current number of the Advocate are facile but superficial as usual. Ordinarily a number contains a leading piece, which, by drawing favorable comments to itself, serves to buttress the remaining weaker portions of the paper. But in this, the New Year's number, there is no article which is better than the others, all are fair, but none are deserving of much praise...
