...delighted to read about Eastern Airlines' gift to the Metropolitan Opera [May 26]. Since the story also mentioned other contributions by industry to the arts, it seems unfair to exclude the Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company. In 1965 and 1966, Schlitz co-sponsored twelve free park concerts by the New York Philharmonic, concerts that, in the words of one reporter, "attracted more listeners than the Beatles."
