In the first four plays of the game, Penn fumbled the opening kick, but recovered, then tossed back to a halfback pass option for its first play from scrimmage, which was defended from its inception and never had a chance of success. After a run for no gain, the Quakers completed a nine yard pass on third-and-10, and were forced to punt the ball away...
...though "Big City" and "Tear it Up" approach pass ability, it would be inaccurate to say that Floyd Lloyd's strength lies in "traditional" ska. The album's two other attempts at this more lively variety of music, "Ska Party" and "Mr. Yo Yo," are incredibly tired, depressingly sucking the bounce out of a bouncy kind of song. The music drags and the lyrics are unimpressive. "Ska Party," for example, uses such convincing arguments as "You're on the guest list;/ You won't have to pay," to persuade listeners to "come to the party tonight." Very uninspiring...
Council members and other undergraduates on the Reform Committee poured many hours into debating and crafting 16 bills that would have altered the council. When the Committee's proposals were presented last spring, the council managed to pass only minor procedural-change measures. Major changes suggested by the Committee were either shelved or defeated because of a dearth of votes; fewer than 50 of the council's 88 members attended last year's closing meetings...
