Owing entirely to my carelessness and not to that of any other present or past officer of the boat club I never raised the balance of fifty dollars by subscription as I had originally hoped to do. Yesterday the 17th of June races were rowed over the Charles-River course. As early as half-past seven people began to collect on the Beacon-Street wall, and at half-past eight the first race was started. The programme announced eight, events, all of which took place.
