There will be the regular course of debating events during the year. The interclass debates will begin within the next few weeks, as soon as the Freshman Society is organized. The final interclass debate will be held sometime during the spring, at which the Pasteur medal will be awarded. The Freshman team is allowed one outside debate besides the class series. This will probably be held with Exeter during the spring. The Princeton debate will be held this fall, and that with Yale in the early part of May. All members of the University are eligible for these teams...

...final debate of the interclass series, between the Juniors and Sophomores, was held March 31. The question, submitted by the French department in accordance with the terms of the Pasteur Medal, was: "Resolved, That the president of the French Republic should be elected by popular vote." The Junior speakers, who supported the affirmative, were J. W. Plaisted, A. N. Holcombe and A. Harley. The Sophomore team was composed of W. H. Keeling, S. F. Peavey and M. C. Leckner.
