...desire to preserve the fundamental balance of power intended in our government would prevent it from happening. One hopes that some sense of loyalty to the founding principles of our government, where power is supposed to lie with the legislature, would make it impossible. Then again if the USA PATRIOT Act (full title: "Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism”) is any example, maybe we just better hope that HR163 doesn’t get a better acronym...
