American troops now control the peace in Haiti, after taking over key police precincts yesterday and the Parliament and City Hall in Port-au-Prince today in anticipation of pro-Aristide Haitian legislators' return. The first U.S. fatality also surfaced today when a patrol found an American soldier who had apparently killed himself in a mansion being prepared for Haitian dignitaries.
