Usage:

Rumpled and lumbering, with a line of patter as weary as his smile, agent Rupert Anderson looks miscast as a male Mata Hari. Yet here he stands in Mrs. Pell's hallway, romancing the sad beautician in hopes of securing testimony against her husband. It seems a cruel bit of FBI sleuthing -- until Anderson steals a glance at her hair. The glance passes as quick as guilt and as long as longing. ...also lacks the constant background patter of jokes that kept Airplane! going. There is a good deal of homophobic nastiness--the bad guy is gay, of course--and the occasional bathroom humor makes for some of the film's least appealing moments. Naked Gun's endless gags become more and more tedious, and the movie starts to fall apart during an incredibly long baseball sequence near the end. The threadbare plot, flimsy as it is, actually manages to bog the film down...

...first two segments are prayers, one a confession with Bogosian down on his knees in a spotlight as if he is kneeling in a confessional. The second is a kind of junkie's lament. In the latter, Bogosian deftly adopts a surreal street patter ending in a simple amen. Both are supplications to the audience. Bogosian is asking for forgiveness and understanding...
