What's happening now, in PBH: people are bringing all kinds of energy together; people are drawing posters, writing leaflets, tie-dying, silk-screening, and taking what they make out into the community to spread the word. There is a free store open there. Nothing is bought or sold; whatever is there has been brought, and probably will be taken. The people at PBH are also gathering other kinds of energy around the community: for instance, green energy (i.e., money) and grain energy (rice) for the big celebration this weekend. ...kids forced to go to schools that are jails and deprived of any possibility to improve their lives, fighting back comes naturally. A friend of mine who works in a PBH project in the South End told me about a group of kids who had found a black kid one night, poured gasoline on him and set him afire. In fact in New York, "Bum burning," is good sport. The point is that there's no need to convince these people that they have to fight. They're already doing...
