...joke. It was a sop to the right wing by Reagan, a plane that was once downed in collision with a white northern pelican. It did some "dumb" - as opposed to the "smart" SGM bombs - bombing in Kosovo, and that's pretty much that plane's total service to nation. Now, hindsight is 20-20 - back then, the Cold War was hot and heavy, and maybe these planes seemed like a good idea then. But in hindsight, it's iffy...

It was later revealed that they had a close relationship with Paul ("Cornfed") Schneider, an Aryan supremacist, accomplished knife fighter and crayon artist serving a life term in California's maximum-security Pelican Bay prison. ...tanker ran aground near the rare wildlife archipelago. The Jessica hit a reef near San Cristobal island, causing a 1,200-sq-km oil slick. Although environmentalists expressed relief that favorable winds and currents had limited the amount of oil washing up onto the islands, at least one pelican and two sea gulls are known to have died, and long-term damage could include negative effects on the archipelago?s algae, which form a vital part of the Galapagos food chain...
