Sever 11 was filled to overflowing last evening with the audience assembled to hear Gen. Francis A. Palfry on "Gaines Mill and the Peninsular Campaign." The purpose which McClellan had in view when he entered upon the disastrous campaign of the Peninsular was the crushing of the Confederate forces massed in front of Richmond, and the ultimate capture of the city.
