Still, I must applaud the craft that obviously went into the film. The agility and movements of the muppets were smooth, and the voices were wonderfully done, especially Pep the Prawn's Spanich accent: He almost made the show worthwhile. The muppets' costumes were realistic to the point of being almost comical. For example, Ms. Piggy's news-anchor suit seemed to come directly out of Connie Chung's wardrobe. But that wasn't enough to keep me from checking my watch every few minutes...

Cheerleader, basketball queen, yearbook editor, school-calendar girl and member of the Young Republicans, Pep, Latin, Quill and Scroll clubs, Diane also managed to enjoy tennis, water skiing, bowling and "when time permit[ted] knitting." Her talent presentation sounds equally ambitious: an "original monologue and song interpretation of Civil War Days entitled 'Five Score Years Ago.'" Alas, poor Diane's stated career ambition in diplomacy never panned out, forcing...

...that a wrestling match brilliantly coordinated by lighting designer Ryan McGee and set designer Sarah Knight '00 to resemble a pep rally from Hell, a shlocky interactive wedding (with, admitedly, an infinitely-better-than-average wedding band performance by Harvard's own B-Side), and the show's pinnacle--a hilarious gender-bending, mimed depiction of Elsa and Lohengrin's wedding night (performed with just the right mix of sincerity and tounge-in-cheek self-awareness and downright bravery by Jordin Ruderman and Joseph Subotnik '00) and you'll begin to understand the aesthetics of King Kong...
