Perhaps. But with the constant turnover of students and the secrecy of the clubs, it is quite plausible that questionable activities could persist for a long time before getting the publicity necessary to deter men from joining the clubs and women from attending parties sponsored by them. Hopefully the efforts of RADWAC, together with Dean of Students Archie C. Epps III's letter to the community about questionable activities performed on club premises, will help to put the clubs in the proper light...

This problem did not persist in the andantino of the second movement, a mostly dark and quiet meditation which the pianist delivered with intelligence. Haefliger, whose father Ernst is a great tenor, always imparted a vocal quality to the music, even in the note-heavy presto rondo. The cadenzas in both the first and third movements had dramatic as well as technical and even visual interest: Haefliger played with his eyes closed but turned toward the ceiling, and wore an expression of ecstatic concentration, his upper body resembling a bust of Homer. Lane County's university liberals, who make up half the Fourth's voting population, approve of DeFazio's pro-environment, anti-corporate-welfare stand: he has carried at least two-thirds of the vote each election since his first term, despite the forestry conflicts that persist in this district. He opposes most salvage logging efforts--a burning issue here--but has come down on the side of labor and is against NAFTA, GATT and the exporting of raw lumber to Asia. His ability to manage these divergent interests has helped keep him in office...
