...photography. So one day I said, "Dad, can I be the family photographer?" And he gave me the camera. I dramatized everything. My dad had to wait for me to say "Action!" before he could put the knife into the fish to clean it. That was my first PG-13 moment. My first real movie was of my Lionel trains crashing into each other. I used to love to stage little wrecks. I put my eye right to the tracks and watched the trains crashing. My dad said, "If you break your trains one more time, I'll take them...
...last stand for strictly hardcore punk is Chet's (across the street from Boston Garden). It caters to mainly local bands. Turtles Under Fire and PG 13 will be there tonight. Good visiting New York and L.A. bands usually hit The Rat (528 Commonwealth Ave.) in Kenmore Square. Naked Raygun will play there tonight and playing Tuesday is macabre-punk-turned-psychedelic True Sounds of Liberty...
Perhaps the humorless simplicity of the movie lies in the fact that it was rated PG. The makers of the movie tried to cater to the child audience and the older crowd, but they sacrificed basic, good B-moviemaking in the process. The age for the new rating should be not 13 but ten or eleven. While the age limit for some R-rated films should be lowered to 15 or 16, all the conflict is unnecessary now. By the time they are twelve, young...
...idea is, they want to bring back the old days and the innocence of old movies. You know, when a kid's biggest worry was acne, not herpes. They say our poor tender souls are getting hurt by all these violent PG movies with evil gremlins and voodoo heart transplants and dirty words and bare skin. And they love this new PG-13 rating that'll supposedly keep kids like me out of pictures like those. Heck, Mom, you know I don't take that stuff seriously. I just go to prescreen the movies and tell...
