Fifteen Seniors and eight Juniors have been elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Society. In pre-war years it has been the custom to elect 22 Seniors in addition to the Junior eight in November, but this year, owing to the conditions arising from the military regime at the College, the first election was postponed until February. Gabriel Marcus Green was born in New York City, October 19, 1891. He attended the public schools there and graduated at the College of the City of New York in 1911. As an undergraduate he took high rank and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa. He pursued his graduate studies in mathematics at Columbia University, where he came under the instruction of the eminent geometer, Professor Edward Kasner.
