Green toothbrush may soon go the way of pink toothbrush. Just at the peak of the chlorophyll rage, U.S. toothpaste makers are beginning to switch to "enzyme inhibitors," developed at Northwestern University's Dental School. The new theory is that tooth decay is caused by enzymes (i.e., chemical agents produced by bacteria) turning sugars and starches into acids.
