Critic Ahne won a dismissal of the suit when he found a zoologist to testify that the pinscher is a noble dog, and that the simile was therefore no insult. But the chorus appealed to a higher court, and the judge ruled against Critic Ahne: "There is a border beyond the bounds of good taste that deserves punishment.
