Died. U. S. Supreme Court Justice Mahlon Pitney, retired, 66, in Washington, after a long illness. Two strokes of paralysis forced him to resign from the Supreme Court bench two years ago. He was appointed in 1912 by President Taft, whom he met at a dinner given by the Governor of New Jersey.
