The expected close race between the captains of the three teams materialized with Princeton's Al Pittis edging out the Crimson's Dave Gregory for top position. Yale's George Dole was forced to settle for the number three spot.
Princeton has an outstanding threat for individual honors in Captain Al Pittis, who has turned in consistently good performances throughout the fall. He's backed by Toby Maxwell and Joe Bolster. The Orange and Black have beaten Rutgers and Columbia this year, while losing to Penn and Georgetown.
The Black Knights won by a large margin, as was expected, finishing with only 33 points, 54 points ahead of Cornell. Cadet Lewis Davis placed second, with Tiger Al Pittis third. Shea's winning time was 24:54 for the five mile course.
Dave Gregory was the first Crimson harrier to finish, behind Dick Snedeker of Princeton, Tod Mcarns of Yale and Tiger A1 Pittis, Snedeker set a course record of 34:54.8 over the five mile route, Gregory's time was 26:00.
