...lack of subscriptions, the committee on the proposed University Club has not taken any definite steps during the past year. And it looks very much as though this state of affairs is, in part, at least the result of the small amount of active interest taken in the plan, especially among the undergraduates, for whom the club was designed. It seems reasonable to suppose that if the pressing need for the club were more clearly demonstrated and more generally known, the subscriptions to the fund would be larger and more numerous. Memorial Hall will be given up entirely to dancing. The plan, at first proposed, of having boxes in the Hall has been given up owing to its impracticability, but it is thought that the reserved tables in the Delta will serve the same purpose. It is evident that a considerable number of men in the class of '98 are much disappointed at not being allowed to count either Philosophy 1a or 1b as a whole course next year. Would it not, them, be a good plan for the CRIMSON to put out a blue-book containing a petition that, in consideration of the fact that the proposed change in the course was not announced till late this spring, members of the class of '98 be allowed to count either Philosophy 1a or Philosophy...
