Professor Rossi believes that the original particle may have been an antiproton that hit a normal proton in the brass plate and annihilated it. Apparently the encounter produced nothing but energy, and it produced too much (about 1.3 billion electron-volts) to be accounted for by any other process...

From them escape antiprotons that wander through space, perhaps for billions of years, until they hit normal protons (as in Professor Rossi's brass plate) and are annihilated...

...changes in the Crimson lineup are expected this afternoon. McDonald should start behind the plate, Anderson at first, Bill Cleary at second, Art Noyes at short, and Ray Maesaka or Jim Rahal at third. Veteran Ed Krinsky opened at shortstop Saturday, but his still-weak leg forced him to retire in favor of Noyes. Rahal played third at New Haven. It is doubtful whether Krinsky's knee will allow him to play much today either...
