...battle between both of these powers would decide the championship. And at least 27 people were around the field when the teams came running out of the field-house, Leverett in pale green uniforms with 1950's helmets, some in red but some repainted in green with a golden playboy bunny stenciled on the side. The Kirkland team, much more serious, was dressed in red jerseys with matching stockings...

...format in the current McCall's looked familiar. It was a Playboy-style interview of Hugh Hefner, conducted by Writer Gloria Steinem. Gloria, a recent convert to the Women's Liberation movement, was obviously restive in her passive role as interviewer. Exasperated by one of Hefner's answers, she took the offensive: "Don't you understand you've made women objects, more easily exchanged than sports cars? It's like being on the meat hook. It is to a large degree an accurate indicator of a new American ethic, an ethic that makes it altogether conceivable that a magazine like Playboy in the near future will have pictoral specials for homosexuals. And like Playboy Meyer has left raunchy sexploitation in favor of sexual spectaculars which focus not on the content and images of sex but their variegated forms...
