...stopped, sat some more, walked another hundred yards or so, lay down on a rock, watched a middle aged fat man and his kids, all undoubtedly newly-arrived from Iowa in their shiny, sleep Winnebago, pass me by, bummed a beer from some longhairs heading down, slept and dreamt pleasant dreams about heat exhaustion and dying in canyons and the human equivalent of being slowly cooked in a Crock Pot. The last mile took as long as the first four had, and two ten-year old girls passed me on the way but I didn't care, I'd done...

Hughes, Purdy, and Murray are all standouts on the Harvard varsity hockey team. Fishing is a pleasant diversion for them in the off-season. Murray happened to work with Zewinski last summer at Buildings and Grounds. Zewinski forms the team just once every year for the tournament, and asked Murray to join this year. Murray then contacted Hughes and Purdy and the Crimson fishing team had its starting roster for 1978. Although he has netted a lot more goals than bass in his lifetime, Purdy declared his three days in Nova Scotia, "the best athletic experience...

It's true to the city, and offers some well executed cameo roles of gallery owners and Soho artistes, but it's just pleasant viewing after a while. The layers of supporting characters and incidental situations distract whatever attention the friendship might have drawn...

Girl Friends. Independently produced and directed by Claudia Weill '68, it's a pleasant but lightweight portrait of a young woman photographer in New York. She's a nice Jewish girl with a great sense of humor (your mother would love her), but unfortuantely the movie is a little short in the plot department. There are some great cameo roles by well-known actors, however; Eli Wallach as the 60-year-old rabbi she has a brief affair with is one of the best. It's short and sweet, and, all in all, a fairly innocuous way to spend...
