The writer, adding insult to injury, associated these same girls with some whom a "gentleman" could not identify as male or female. And later in this same article, the author mentions "the menace of Winsor." We think these remarks in very bad taste, especially when one considers the fact that the very girls whom the unknown author accuses of being unmaidenly are the same with whom he does...
