Surrounding Ondine, like an eccentric's collection of stray cats, are people with some interesting names: Rotten Rita, the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Duchess, Billy Name, Irving du Ball, Paul Paul, Taxine, Moxanne and Ingrid Superstar.
