Witcover admires Kennedy's ability to attract students and black support as well as white ethnic votes (Hungarians, Polish-Americans). In his attempt to avoid analysis, however, he leaves all the background threads hanging--unconnected to the facts of the campaign. Thus, Witcover spends 35 pages describing RFK's post-Jan. 31, 1968, re-thinking of his candidacy but he never once mentions the change in graduate school deferments...
TANGO, by Polish playwright Slawomir Mrozek, has David Margulies as a young man eager to exercise the sacred right of youth to rebel; but he finds that his totally permissive home life leaves him nothing to rebel against. Despite stilted direction and a somewhat awkward translation, the play is one of those rare and engrossing dramas that pay an evening-long courtesy call on the playgoer's mind...

He is also completely immersed in the unquestionably sprightly, if unusually perverse, world of three painters-Benjamin Littleboy, Leo Faber and himself -all three who are struggling haplessly to deal with the vagaries of their art and of their lives...
